FUNCTIONALISED SURFACES

Development and surface engineering: functional treatments
FUNCTIONALISED SURFACES
CONTEXT

Chemical-physical functionalization of material surfaces offers great opportunities in the fields of building industry and architecture, allowing to combine existing properties, already employed in the sector, with innovative characteristics typical of the modified surface.
This research line, developed within MITAI Laboratory – Faenza Technopole Ravenna Headquarters, offers industry expertise and know-how for the realisation of:
  • Anti-smog materials
  • Anti-adhesive materials
  • Self-cleaning materials
  • Anti-scratch materials
  • Anti-freeze materials
  • Anti-reflective materials
  • Oleophobic materials
  • Mechanically resistant materials
  • Durable materials
TECHNOLOGIES

Functional coatings are designed and realised thanks to nanotechnologies; each time the best available processes and the interaction with different supports are evaluated, in order to optimize performances and durability of final products.

Main obtainable effects by applying titanium dioxide-based covering layers (TiO2)
